So, what’s a B Corp?

B Corps, or Certified B Corporations are companies verified by B Lab that meet the highest standard of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability. Not heard of a B Corp before? … Some high profile brands you may have heard of which are part of the community include Keepcup, Patagonia and Tony’s Chocolonely.

The certification process to becoming a B Corp includes reviewing a company’s practices and outputs across five categories: governance, workers, community, the environment, and customers.

It’s a rigorous process that took us over nine months to complete, and it has challenged us to think about how Form operates as a force for good. It’s provoked healthy conversations within the organisation, reflecting on the positive work that we are already doing and highlighting the areas where we need to improve.

Why did we become a B Corp?

Achieving a B Corp status is a part of our commitment at Form to leave people, places and organisations better than we found them. This includes ensuring that everyone within the business is learning, growing and developing into the best versions of themselves.

However our impact must also go beyond our four walls by supporting the community on our doorstep; working with local suppliers as often as possible, and supporting local enterprises to achieve their goals whilst delivering a strong social and environmental impact.

A key part of that is reducing and offsetting the environmental impact of the work that we do. By 2025 we’ll be lifetime carbon neutral – so, not just offsetting and reducing from this point – but offsetting our total carbon debt since our founding. Our commitment isn’t just relevant in the short term; we’ll be rigorously monitoring, reviewing, and improving on our B Corp Impact Score whilst pursuing initiatives that are not just neutral but also regenerative. Our B Corp Score

A minimum of 80 points is required to achieve B Corp status. So, to have achieved an overall Impact Score of 100.3 on our first submission makes us extremely proud. But we also recognise there is so much more that can be done, so we will be continuously reviewing and considering the ways that we can build on our scores across all five areas of governance, workers, community, the environment, and customers.

You can read more about our score and feedback on the B Corp directory.

What’s next?

Building on our commitment to leave people and places better than we found them, we’ll be continuing to promote and create an inclusive workforce, reducing and offsetting our environmental impact and supporting charities and foundations that serve our communities.

Being a Certified B Corporation isn’t just about status or a badge but it’s about being part of an exciting social movement that together is transforming the global economy to benefit all – people and the planet. We are looking forward to continuing to support our clients and partners on their journeys as they increase their impact for good.
